CDO Environmental Campaign

As read from Business World Online, Cagayan de Oro limits plastic bag. A campaign to protect the environment.

The site says,

"Consumers have been given three options when buying goods under the city's environmental protection drive: bring a bag, purchase so-called ecobags, or pay an environmental fee for 1 peso per plastic bag."

True. Just yesterday my partner and I went groceries at Robinsons. We were politely informed that they'll be charging 1 peso per plastic bag. However, I was not informed what for or why. I am not against with their campaign but it lacks the information drive. For the argument that I may brought my own shopping bags or I may have informed where would the money I paid for goes to which essentially not that much but I would have appreciated that my peso was of a great help.

So in the end my partner and I argued its drive and then just laughed because we were arguing over something not personal or dramatic.

But really it has its pros and cons. Hoping though that they disseminate the information should they want the consumers to understand.
